craftingknitting
Hi. Keep up your great crafting everyone!
Well, I have been loom knitting for charity, making hats and scarves for different homeless shelters who I donate things I make to each year. I love the loom knitting. My favorite scarf pattern is a tube scarf. I hope I can write this clearly:
TO MAKE a tube scarf on a knitting loom: Cast On to the knitting loom as for a hat.
After you wrapped all the pegs, just keep on knitting (lift the bottom wrapped loop over the top wrapped loop) and then I knit about 5-6 feet, using two or more strands of yarn together, for a thicker knit. Then finish off as you do on any knitting hat project, and if you want to crochet the two edges, use a double or single crochet stitch. That’s what I do.

knitting
Is a yarn over possible? Well…If you are knitting on a board or round knitting loom [going back and forth] and not using
already all the pegs …..and if you have a stretchy yarn….it could be done I think. (more…)

mittens
Mittens can be a real challenge. I really want to make mittens to go with the scarves I know I’m going to make. My children lose their mittens all the time in the winter. My biggest problem is the placement of the thumb. You could use the purple loom for them & only use the pegs you need. In
the hand part, just don’t close the circle for a few rows to give your self a hole for your thumb piece to be sewn in…or… (more…)

tightly
When you wrap the pegs of the loom (or cast on), be sure to not wrap the pegs too tightly or you won’t be able to knit off (lifting the bottom wrapped loop over the top wrapped loop on the pegs of the loom). I always put my opposite thumb down on the yarn (to regulate tension) while wrapping the pegs of the loom, but some people use their knitting tools the same way. Too loose of a tension isn’t good either. Getting the right tension takes practice, so don’t give up. I always hold the hook part of the knitting tool up while knitting off.

newborn
The depth of a newborn hat will depend on how far you want it to come down on the baby’s head. I do mine about 6 inches or so deep. (more…)

I think most of us will agree that there’s no such thing as too much yarn. If they would quit making new ones, I might get caught up on what I have. I never go in a store that sells yarn that I don’t come out with 2 or 3 more skeins of some kind of yarn. (more…)
